The Apexel 30× telephoto lens kit is designed for taking photos and videos with a smartphone of distant subjects—such as birds, architectural details, or the action at a sporting event. The 30× optical zoom allows you to capture a narrower, closer view, and the included tripod helps keep your phone and lens steady. By attaching the silicone eyepiece, the lens can also be used separately as a monocular.
30× optical zoom for distant details
The lens optically magnifies the image before it enters the phone’s camera. This comes in handy when you want to capture a distant subject that you can’t reach or don’t want to disturb. Whether you’re photographing nature, covering an event, or traveling, you can focus more on the details you choose.
Focus is adjusted using a manual ring from 3 m to infinity. While viewing the image on your phone’s screen, turn the ring until the selected object comes into focus. The lens has a fixed magnification of 30×.
Optical glass lenses with a multilayer coating
The optical system consists of 8 elements arranged in 6 groups and a “Roof Prism.” The “Fully Multi-Coated” multi-layer lens coating reduces light reflections at the junctions of optical surfaces and helps maintain image contrast.
The lens construction combines optical glass, aluminum alloy, and ABS plastic. The 46-mm thread on the front allows for the attachment of compatible filters, which are sold separately.
A tripod for a steadier shot
At high zoom levels, even slight hand movements are more noticeable in the image. The JJ028 mini tripod included in the set provides support for the lens and phone, making it easier to frame the shot, focus precisely, and film from a single location.
The tripod features a ball head, a telescoping center column, and adjustable leg angles. The lens mounting ring allows you to rotate your phone to a horizontal or vertical position and lock it in place. The standard 1/4″-20 mounting thread allows you to use another compatible tripod as well.
Adjustable mount for aligning the phone’s camera
The phone mount allows you to align the lens with the phone’s main rear camera. Once you’ve adjusted the position and secured the mount, screw the telephoto lens onto its 37 mm thread.
The 2-, 3-, and 4-mm-thick EVA spacers included in the set help adapt the mount for phones with a protruding camera module. Compatibility depends on the phone’s design and the position of the camera—the mount must allow the lens to be precisely aligned with the camera. When taking photos without a tripod, you’ll need to hold the lens steady with your hand.
Can be used without a phone
When you attach the silicone eyepiece included in the set, the telephoto lens becomes a monocular through which you can directly observe distant objects. This way, the same optical accessory comes in handy both for taking photos and for examining details in nature or the city without using a phone.
The front and rear caps help protect the optical surfaces when storing or transporting the lens, and the included cleaning cloth is designed for cleaning them.
